Two teenagers arrested after 27 birds beheaded in Wythanshawe Park

A second teenager has been arrested on suspicion of trashing Wythenshawe Park and beheading 27 birds, killing fish and a frog.

The 13-year-old boy is being held on suspicion of burglary. Another boy, 15, who was arrested earlier on suspicion of theft and burglary, is also still in custody.

The 15-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of stealing chickens in Didsbury on May 16.

Vandals broke into Wythenshawe Park on Sunday, decapitating 27 birds, killing £3500 worth of Koi carp and smashing 173 panes of glass.

They caused an estimated £10,000 worth of damage.
