Leading Medical Apparel Designer Hosted Weekend Warehouse Sale
Raising Funds For Art Programs Benefiting Victims of Domestic Violence
SANTA MONICA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–koi
design, LLC, the home of designer scrubs, successfully raised
$42,571 as part of a company-wide fundraising effort at their annual
warehouse sale weekend to benefit A
Window Between Worlds (AWBW), an organization dedicated to providing
creative expression as a healing tool for battered women and children in
crisis shelters. The warehouse sale weekend kicked off with a VIP
preview event on June 10 and continued through the weekend with the
warehouse sale on June 11 and 12. Several hundred loyal koi fans from
all over the West Coast came to koi’s Santa Monica warehouse to purchase
designer scrubs. 20 percent of all of the proceeds went directly to
AWBW’s art programs, allowing victims of domestic violence an outlet of
personal expression.
“Art supplies and community support are critical to the
success of our organization, and with koi’s contribution we have the
means to continue bringing women and children the tools they need to
develop a renewed sense of hope and possibility.”
“Our warehouse sale is an opportunity to not only offer designer scrubs
to our loyal customers, but to also aid the community around us,” said
Kathy Peterson, founder and CEO of koi. “By contributing to AWBW’s
efforts we hope to raise awareness of how this remarkable organization
provides hope and recovery for women and children that are victims of
domestic abuse by expressing their feelings through art.”
Generous sponsors including Marc Ecko Enterprises, Wells Fargo, Sanita,
ProWearPlus and UPS donated a combined total of nearly $20,000, to aid
victims of domestic violence through AWBW’s programs across the country.
In addition, proceeds from the VIP preview event ticket sales, as well
as cash donations, increased the amount of funds donated to help the
organization purchase supplies.
“A Window Between Worlds is extremely grateful for koi’s ongoing support
of our organization,” said Cathy Salser, executive director, A Window
Between Worlds. “Art supplies and community support are critical to the
success of our organization, and with koi’s contribution we have the
means to continue bringing women and children the tools they need to
develop a renewed sense of hope and possibility.”
In addition, koi’s donation will support programs for 50,000 domestic
violence survivors in the greater Los Angeles area and across 23 states.
To continue support beyond the warehouse sale, koi will design a top
specifically for AWBW and will donate $2 from each sale to the
organization.
