Govt to begin transferring SEA Games bonuses on Thursday
National Sports Council (KON) and Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) chairwoman Rita Subowo said on Wednesday that SEA Games bonuses would be transferred starting from Thursday.
“The bonuses will be transferred to the accounts of each medal winner. We have finished the administration process,” she said as quoted by tempo.co.
The government had allocated Rp 150 billion (US$16 million) for bonuses, far higher than the Rp 48 billion finally received by athletes and officials who brought home 181 golds, 151 silvers and 142 bronzes from the SEA Games, she added.
Rita said there would be no other forms of bonuses but cash.
