Barista, the two-cafe chain from award-winning barista Billy Wilson, will hold a “grand opening part deux” party from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday for their Northeast Portland location.
The cafe closed after an errant Fourth of July firework landed on the roof of the Alberta Central building, causing damage to Barista as well as a pilates center, a Web design office and a restaurant, Aviary.
(Aviary chef Sarah Pliner said Wednesday that the restaurant she co-owns with Jasper Shen and Kat Whitehead is on schedule to open by the end of the month.)
Barista Alberta’s re-opening party will feature tacos from a Koi Fusion truck and beers poured by Tyler Vickers of the Saraveza bar. The cafe’s return also means the coffee cart that served customers during the reconstruction is getting the pink slip.
