Anand (Guj), May 14 (PTI) A complaint of cheating was
today registered against a leading Gujarati film actor Vikram
Thakore, police said. The film actor has been charged for allegedly duping
Gujarati film director and producer Paresh Patel for Rs 35
lakh as he failed to turn up for shooting of the films for
which he had signed the contracts and had taken fee in
advance, they said. “Patel had signed contracts with Rathore for two
films-Dikri Ne Na Desho Koi Pardesh and Tamaara Sum (Saugandh)
Manne Bhau Vahaala Laage- in December last year and had paid
an advance of Rs 35 lakh,” police said. Rathore failed to turn up for the mahoorat shot fixed
at Lucky Studio at Halol on March 23 this year for one of the
films, Patel claimed in his police complaint. Repeated efforts made to contact the actor failed to
evoke response, Patel further stated. The actor residing at Gadhinagar was not available for
comments. A case has been registered and the police have begun
investigations.
