Sanjay Mehra (Rakesh Roshan) is a scientist and obsessed with establishing contact with extraterrestrial life. He creates a computer that can transmit messages to space. His foresight becomes reality when as a response to his signals; a spaceship is sighted in the sky. But before enjoying his success Sanjay dies in a car accident. His wife Sonia (Rekha) is left alone. She gives birth to their son Rohit (Hrithik Roshan), a mentally challenged child. One day Rohit discovers his father’s old computer. He calls his friend Nisha (Preity Zinta) to help him use it. Both of them experiment with the gadget not realizing the impact this would have. The whole town witnesses a blackout and a strange experience in a bright glowing sky. A huge spaceship is sighted in the sky. The next day a pair of footprints not belonging to man or animal is found in the town. What do Rohit and Nisha find out?
